Editing.rpt files in Visual Studio 2015. I would like to find out if there is any way to integrate Crystal Reports with VS 2015 (Community, latest version).

Some time ago I installed a 30-day trial of Crystal Reports Server XI, just to have a look at it really. After I did this install I noticed that Visual Studio (2005 std.) no longer recognized the.rpt file type in a project I’m working on. Since CR Server was no use for me I uninstalled it shortly after I installed it – but still VS didn’t recognized the.rpt file type.

Didn’t think much of it until a couple of days ago when I suddenly had to do some work on one of the reports. So I uninstalled VS and installed it again hoping it would help, but it didn’t.

Is this maybe a registry issue? Anyone knows how to fix this?
